Blue Mountain Greeting Card Virus

Blue Mountain is SAFE

Someone is playing a mean trick on Blue Mountain and its users.

A false e-mail rumor is being passed around that Blue Mountain Arts has a virus. This rumor is absolutely untrue.   It is an e-mail HOAX.

Bluemountain.com is a COMPLETELY safe site!

Be assured that you absolutely cannot get a computer virus from sending or receiving a Blue Mountain Arts' electronic greeting card.

Blue Mountain cards are simply web pages that you view with your browser and its e-mail notifications are only text messages without any attached files.   When you send or receive cards on Blue Mountain, you do not actually download to your computer any file which may contain a virus.

Our website is safe to use.

Peace and love,Signature

History of E-MAIL HOAX

We first found out about the hoax as early as Feb 25,1999 when a user e-mailed Blue Mountain to make us aware that the following e-mail message was "going around":
Text of E-mail HOAX

The perpetrator of this hoax sent this false e-mail message to another person who in turn sent it to another person and on and on. It took only 2 weeks for the hoax to become so wide-spread that Blue Mountain became deluged with thousands of e-mails and calls from website users.

This is not the first hoax to hit the internet.   Last year there was a notorious e-mail hoax that promised a trip to Disney World for the first 13,000 people to forward it to their friends. This hoax played upon our emotion of greed.

Since 1994 there has been an e-mail hoax going around the claims that just reading the text of a message from someone named "Good Times" will erase your hard drive. This hoax played upon our emotion of fear.

Likewise, the spread of the E-mail hoax about Blue Mountain cards also played upon our emotion of uncertainty and fear of computer viruses.   Don't let the evil perpetrators of this hoax affect your use of the internet and Blue Mountain Website.

Blue Mountain Greetings are safe!
